i made the guitar red by using the magic lasso and then used various colour manipulation tools to turn it to the red i wanted. i also used the dodge tool to brighten his eyes to make him look more enraged. i also stuck a tattoo on him and used the burn tool to make it look more natural

i randomly experimented with the other picture until i was satisfied with what came out but i began by striping off the background with Marquee tools and magic wand/ lasso tools
